Revival Nights

In 2022, we set aside six nights to worship, pray, and seek after God for revival in New England, and the impact on our church was extraordinary. These Revival Nights were overflowing with people encountering God like never before. The testimonies poured in from people who experienced healing, freedom from sin, restored relationships, and complete surrender to Jesus.

“God is so good to us!”

〰️

“It was the most amazing thing to experience.”

〰️

“I fully believe God sewed my heart back together at the Revival Nights!”

〰️

“I cannot put into words what I feel. I just feel NEW!!”

〰️

“A true miracle.”

IMPACT STORY

One of the stories we shared in 2022 was Jeremiah and Mariah Johnson’s story of stepping out in faith to join the staff of Vox Church on mission to see transformation across the region for God's glory.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

In 2022, we witnessed an influx of people join community groups across many different cities in New England seeking intentional biblical community. Stories of transformation poured in: people said yes to Jesus, groups dove deep into God’s Word, lives were radically changed, fellowship abounded with Jesus and one another, and hearts ignited to reach those far from God.

  • 110 new groups launched

  • An average of 1,700 people in groups

  • Groups hosted in 71 cities

VOXKIDS

VoxKids reaches new families with the gospel each year. In 2022 VoxKids welcomed 1,157 new children into VoxKids programming, averaging 22 new families each week. VoxKids expanded weekly programming to include an additional 11 classrooms across all locations.

  • Hosted 5 Parenting on Purpose (8-week curriculum based group equips parents to raise responsible kids that have a philosophy of life centered around God)

  • 330 kids attended VBS events in 4 locations

  • Collected 5,000 shoes for Soles4Souls

  • 35 families dedicated children across all of our locations

Parenting on Purpose completely changed my perspective in teaching my kids time management and taking advantage of learning opportunities versus parent performance stress. I know you know, but I will remind you that these classes are important and change the trajectory of lives, at least my life. Keep up the good work.

VOXYOUTH

VoxYouth met simultaneously in four locations across Connecticut to understand their identity in Jesus, build lifelong community centered on Jesus, and have a ton of fun in the process. In 2022, students showed a unique excitement and pursuit of Jesus. Many shared Jesus with their friends, inviting them to VoxYouth to find the community their souls desired.

We partnered with 11 local Connecticut churches for a combined 350-person retreat where students surrendered their life to Jesus, new friendships developed, and students deepened their understanding of identity in Jesus.

89 VoxYouth students served on Sunday mornings in 2022. Over the summer, 20 students partnered with a local ministry partner in Hartford to serve the needs of the city for a week

Over 100 students came together, bringing friends to our VoxYouth Games event over the summer for a time of fun, community building, and pursuing Jesus together

Illume

The Women’s Ministry of Vox Church

Loving each other. Leading together.

The women of Illume partnered with various women’s shelters, provided feminine products to those experiencing period poverty, and gathered multiple times throughout the year to worship and receive the Word of God. We have felt and seen such tangible growth in the hearts of women and how we have served the community.

Over 1,500 women participated in our conferences,

worship night, and winter retreat

Conference attendance increased by more than 25%

Women’s Illume community groups grew to over 500 participating women

2 new Women’s Connections Directors were added at the campus level

VOXMUSIC

This past year we have seen and experienced God’s favor and faithfulness!

Our campus teams, who serve by leading our church inworship every week, have continued to grow, both in number and in spiritual maturity.

Unity between campuses is greater than ever as they support one another and collaborate on enhancing our worship experience.

VoxMusic wrote and released more music this year than any year before, allowing us to seek the heart of God for our church and capture what he is doing through song.

  • 406,000 original music streams across Spotify, Apple Music, and more

  • Continued growth in our teams, both in numbers and spiritual maturity

  • More original music in our live campus experiences than ever before

MISSIONS

In 2022, we partnered with 58 local and global partners and organizations to invest $616,000 to see the gospel advance both internationally and locally as we responded to opportunities and needs to share the love of Jesus.

  • $35,000 given to a local church planting couple in Turkey to contribute funding to the launch of an evangelistic outreach Christian Cafe and funded a Bible app translated into Turkish that is the 2nd most widely used Christian app in Turkey

  • $20,000 given to World Relief to help start a Church Empowerment Zone in Burundi, Africa, alongside World Relief’s native team providing holistic care for the poorest area of the world

  • Vox immediately responded to the horrific floods throughout India in August, giving $15,000 toward care kits, tarps, emergency food, and supplies

  • Hosted global missions weekend inviting 7 global workers Vox has partnered with to share what God is doing all over the globe

  • Sent a team of 5 people to Lebanon and Turkey in March to discern areas for a deeper partnership with Converge International and Fethiye Community Church

OUTREACH

This past year, we served more hours, mobilized more volunteers, and hosted more events than ever in our church’s history.

Loving Our City

We were able to bless each of our cities through teacher, first responder, and city official appreciation events. Each of our campuses also hosted back-to-school events to resource our local schools and meet the unique needs of each city.

Caring for the Orphan

We partnered with the Department of Children and Families to host an open house to educate and mobilize our church to consider fostering. This relationship has also led us to participate in free DCF-hosted camps and seminars for foster children across the state.

Building Partnerships

One of the goals for our outreach ministry is to build partnerships with local organizations that we can come alongside to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We want to support with not only just resources and volunteers but with prayer and a commitment to serving the least of these in our cities. As of this year, we have 42 local partners that we are committed to supporting and have seen 4,630 meals served to the homeless, over 1,000 meals for the holidays distributed, and so much more within one year of service.

PERSPECTIVES

At Vox, we believe that diversity in the church is the heartbeat of heaven, and our goal is to reflect the diversity of our congregation in every aspect of our leadership and ministry. By raising awareness of the realities of racial and ethnic divisions in our hearts and world, the Perspectives Team seeks to awaken a desire in the people of our church to be a part of the healing process for the transformation of our cities. We humbly build relationships with various churches, organizations, and neighbors to meet the community’s needs and strengthen unity. We work to bridge the racial divide in the body of Christ, so we reflect the unity he has called us to and care for all of those involved through a year-long action plan of events, teaching, and fellowship opportunities.

  • More than 200 people gathered for the first annual Celebration of Cultures to share food, fellowship, and worship as one church family

  • 40 people registered for the LivingUNDIVIDED experiential journey toward racial healing and justice

  • 6 new members added to the Perspectives Team, a diverse group of leaders who bring a variety of perspectives into the planning and decision-making conversations of our church

VOXFINANCE

In early 2023, Vox Church successfully completed its second consecutive independent audit performed by CapinCrouse, a national firm specializing in nonprofit and church audits.

Our auditors issued an unqualified opinion. This conclusion represents that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Vox Church as of December 31, 2022, and that the changes in its net assets and cash flows are presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

2022 HIGHLIGHTS

82% of our 2022 expenses were attributed to ministry efforts

As of December 31, 2022:
Net assets totaled $9.5M, an increase of 9% from 2021
Cash and cash equivalents totaled $6.8M, an increase of 28% from 2021

As a result of our intentional management of funds, Vox Church ended the year $183K under budget and revenue exceeded expenses by $816K.

The highest priority of the Finance Team is to steward the assets of Vox Church. We are in a strong financial position to launch two new locations in 2023 and to fund our current expansion projects.
